Speeches about a musician's life are prtety dull usually.  Unless you have someone you really like, who actually had an interesting life than I would go with something else.  If you are getting graded specifically for the speech, not a research project presentation then go with a semi-controversial topic.  Everyone has an opinion so it will grasp the audience, and your own opinion will help you have energy that seems natural, not a boring biography.  This depends on your age though.  If it's college shoot for controversial, if you are younger keep it tame.
